Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to oversee and manage all on-site construction activities for an upcoming commercial construction project in Saint John, New Brunswick.

The successful candidate will serve as the primary on-site representative and main point of contact for the project. This individual will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors, managing day-to-day site operations, maintaining project schedules, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and communicating project progress to the management team.

The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who can work independently, solve problems in the field, and take ownership of the project from start to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all daily construction activities on site.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and trades.
• Ensure work is completed according to drawings, specifications, project schedules, and quality standards.
• Act as the primary on-site contact between the project team, consultants, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to management.
• Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, and site logistics.
• Schedule and attend site inspections and ensure compliance with applicable building codes and regulations.
• Identify and resolve site issues, deficiencies, and scheduling conflicts.
• Maintain daily site reports, progress records, and project documentation.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and promote safe work practices.
• Review drawings and coordinate construction activities to minimize delays and rework.
• Assist with project closeout, deficiency corrections, and final inspections.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Site Superintendent, Site Supervisor, or Construction Foreman on commercial and high rised construction projects.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, and building systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with restaurant, retail, or commercial fit-out projects.
• Knowledge of local building codes and inspection processes.
• First Aid and Health & Safety certifications are considered an asset.

Location Requirement

Applicants must be currently residing in Saint John, New Brunswick, or the surrounding area and available to attend the project site on a daily basis.
