Dump Truck Operator – Job Description
Overview
We're looking for a reliable and safety‐focused Dump Truck Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience operating tri‐axle or tandem dump trucks, understands aggregate hauling, and can work efficiently in a fast‐paced construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate dump truck to transport materials such as gravel, sand, soil, and debris
- Perform daily pre‐trip and post‐trip inspections
- Safely load and unload materials at job sites
- Follow designated routes and schedules
- Communicate with site supervisors, equipment operators, and dispatch
- Maintain clean, organized, and mechanically sound equipment
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies
- Labour on work sites
Requirements
- Valid DZ or AZ driver's license (or provincial equivalent)
- Clean driving record
- Previous dump truck or heavy equipment experience preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong awareness of safety and site protocols
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Assets (Nice to Have)
- Experience on construction, excavation, or aggregate sites
- Mechanical aptitude for minor truck maintenance
- Ability to operate additional equipment (loader, skid steer, etc.)
Schedule & Compensation
- Full‐time, seasonal or year‐round depending on workload
- Competitive hourly wage based on experience
