Part-time, PermanentCounsellor/Therapist

Woolwich Community Health Centre (WCHC), a multi-site health centre with locations in St.Jacobs, Wellesley and Linwood,requires aCounsellor/Therapist(30hours per week).This position will provideregular,weeklycounsellinghoursat ALL locations.Workingoneeveningperweekis a requirement for this position.

TheCounsellor/Therapist complements the health centres inter-disciplinary team by providing counselling services for complex psychosocial and emotional needs of clients,and their families whenappropriate.Thispositionwillbe involved in group facilitationandprovidehealtheducation sessions on mental health topics.

Qualifications:

  1. Mastersdegree in a recognized mental health profession from an accredited educational institution, andcurrent membership in a regulatedprofessional body(i.e.,the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workersand/orthe College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario).
  2. A minimum of 3yearspsychotherapyexperience at the post-masterslevel,with all age groups,individual, group,marriageand family therapy, as well as familiarity with andexperience in group facilitation.
  3. Counselling experience with children and youth isan asset.
  4. Experience providing trauma-informedcounselling is an asset.
  5. Experience in providing counselling in a variety of settings (e.g. in person, via telephone, virtual counselling)
  6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively inaninterprofessionalteam environment, to present the counselling perspectivepertaining toindividual, family and community health, and organizational matters.
  7. Strong written and verbal communication skills.Communication skills in Plautdietschan asset.
  8. Excellent interpersonalskills, including the ability toestablishrapport and effective therapeutic relationshipswith distressedclients; effective working relationships with co-workers, externalprofessionals,and members of the community; and a high degree of flexibility/adaptability.
  9. Demonstrated initiative and innovation in developing or contributing to community programs particularregardingequity promotion and from a culturally humble perspective.
  10. Eligibility to supervisemaster'sstudents, or commitment to achieving eligibility requirements for such supervision during first year of employment.

  • StartingSalary of $65,045to$78,261per year (pro-rated to working status)
  • 4 weeks paid vacation(pro-rated to working status)
