Part-Time Administrative Assistant (HR & Safety Support)
Option Excavating Inc.

Option Excavating Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail orientedPart-Time Administrative Assistant to support our day to day administrative operations, with a strong focus onHuman Resources and Safety Administration.

This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, eager to learn, and interested in gaining hands-on experience in HR and Occupational Health & Safety within the construction industry.

Location: Preferably local to Spruce Grove, Alberta
Schedule: Approximately 3 days per week, 8 hours per day

Opportunity: Position has the potential to grow into a full-time role for the right candidate

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Support

  • Assist with general day-to-day office administration
  • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems
  • Coordinate office supplies, inventory, and deliveries
  • Support document preparation, scanning, filing, and data entry
  • Assist with company equipment and asset tracking
  • Help coordinate communication between departments
  • Support bid and project documentation preparation
  • Assist with additional administrative tasks as required

HR & Onboarding Support

  • Support employee onboarding and orientation processes
  • Maintain employee records and documentation
  • Assist with training coordination and scheduling
  • Track certifications, training renewals, and compliance requirements
  • Support HR systems and employee documentation management
  • Assist with employee recognition and team support initiatives

Safety Administration Support

  • Assist with organizing and reviewing safety documentation
  • Monitor and follow up on inspections, training, and compliance items
  • Support safety program administration and document formatting
  • Assist with audit preparation and document collection
  • Coordinate follow-ups related to safety requirements and outstanding items

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently
  • Quick learner with a willingness to be trained in HR and safety systems (will train right candidate)
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills
  • Comfortable using digital systems and document management platforms
  • Previous administrative experience is considered an asset, but not required
