Heavy Equipment / Diesel Mechanic

A confidential employer in Vaughan, ON is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment / Diesel Mechanic to join our team.

This is a full-time, in-person role focused on the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of a mixed fleet of heavy equipment and trucks. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with loaders, skid steers/Bobcats, backhoes, trucks, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, welding, and snow-removal / winter maintenance equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and trucks
• Work on equipment including loaders, skid steers/Bobcats, backhoes, trucks, and snow-removal / winter maintenance equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, engine, brake, suspension, steering, and drivetrain systems
• Perform welding and fabrication repairs as required
• Perform inspections and identify mechanical issues accurately
• Complete repairs using diagnostic tools, technical manuals, schematics, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as required
• Maintain accurate service records and document work completed
• Support safe, efficient fleet operation and follow all workplace safety procedures

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of diesel mechanic experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment and trucks
• Direct hands-on experience with loaders, skid steers/Bobcats, backhoes, trucks, and snow-removal / winter maintenance equipment
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, and welding/fabrication
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, work orders, schematics, and safety documents in English
• Valid driver's licence with an acceptable driver's abstract
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in a fast-paced environment
