Job Title: Senior Mining Hydrogeologist / Engineer

Location: Sudbury, ON (Hybrid / Regional Travel)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Compensation: $130,000 – $140,000 base salary, depending on experience, with additional bonus and benefits.

The Opportunity

We are working with a well-established environmental and engineering consultancy seeking a Senior Mining Hydrogeologist / Engineer to support the continued growth of their mining and environmental services across Ontario and Quebec.

This is a high-impact role combining technical leadership, client development, and market growth, with the opportunity to play a key role in expanding the firm's presence within the mining sector.

The successful candidate will act as both a technical authority and trusted advisor to clients, while contributing to the strategic growth of the mining portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior technical leadership on hydrogeological, environmental, and remediation projects within the mining sector
  • Plan and oversee field programs, including drilling, monitoring well installation, groundwater and surface water sampling, and pumping/permeability testing
  • Lead and contribute to Phase I and II ESAs, site investigations, and remediation programs
  • Interpret hydrogeological data and develop conceptual site models
  • Prepare, review, and approve high-quality technical reports and deliverables
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Mentor and develop junior and intermediate staff
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships within the mining sector
  • Contribute to business development, including proposals, networking, and growth initiatives across Ontario and Quebec
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health & safety standards and regulatory requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10–15+ years of experience in hydrogeology, environmental consulting, or mining-related work
  • Strong experience within the mining sector (consulting or owner/operator)
  • Proven background in groundwater, ESAs, and remediation
  • Experience leading projects and managing technical teams
  • Demonstrated involvement in business development or client relationship management
  • Professional designation (P.Geo. or P.Eng.) in Ontario
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams
  • Willingness to travel regionally as required
