Technical Sales Manager

Technical Sales Representative (Building Science & Hydronics)MacDonald Search Group has been asked by our building science and hydronics client to find a first-class Technical Sales Representative (Building Science & Hydronics) to join their team in Ottawa, ON (field-based). The primary responsibility of this role will be to drive market growth by securing engineered specifications, building contractor relationships, and expanding the Ottawa territory into a standalone regional operation.
Some of what you will do in this role includes:

• Develop relationships with mechanical consulting firms and position specialized hydronic systems as the basis of design
• Provide technical expertise on radiant heating and cooling, snow melt, and high-efficiency hydronic solutions
• Manage projects through the full lifecycle, from engineering design and submittals through commissioning
• Support mechanical contractors during installation to ensure technical compliance and project success
• Build and manage a strong pipeline of commercial and institutional projects across the Ottawa market

You should have the following in your background to apply:

• 3–8 years of technical sales experience within HVAC, hydronics, or mechanical systems
• Established relationships with Ottawa-area consulting engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints and discuss mechanical systems confidently
• Mechanical Engineering degree, P.Eng., CET, or related technical designation strongly preferred
• Proven ability to combine business development skills with consultative technical problem-solving
