Grading Assistant

Currently, the centre has a need for a person who is passionate about helping students learn the foundational knowledge and skills needed for future academic success. As a classroom marking assistant you will be responsible for

* Accurate marking of class work

* Assessing oral reading skills and model read where necessary

* Support centre operations as needed

* Help Instructor with data entry, grading and other administrative tasks

* Provide thoughtful feedback about students performance to the instructor in written format

* Perform other duties as required

Key qualifications include

* A passion for working with and developing young minds

* Excellent interpersonal communication skills with both adults and children

* High school Diploma or HS taking advanced courses (college experience with early education courses a plus)

* Desire to help children learn, and patience to work with while they develop the skills to focus and complete their work

* Excellent Math skills and strong grasp of English language both spoken and written. Must be able to pass a written Advanced Functions math test (without a calculator) to qualify for interview.

Salary: $17.60 per hour
