Commercial Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant

Location: Surrey, BC
Salary: $52,000 $57,000
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site

Our client, a well-established and highly regarded full-service law firm located in the Greater Vancouver area, is seeking a junior Commercial Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant to join its growing litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and organized legal support professional looking to further develop their litigation experience within a collaborative and professional environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with lawyers and legal professionals supporting a busy commercial litigation practice. The firm offers a supportive workplace culture, strong mentorship, excellent benefits, and long-term growth potential.

The Role
  • Open, organize, and close legal files
  • Draft and prepare correspondence, authorizations, and litigation-related documents
  • Prepare pleadings, application records, and briefs of authorities
  • Manage incoming documents and maintain organized electronic and physical files
  • Coordinate mediations, discoveries, trials, and client meetings
  • Maintain bring-forward and limitation systems
  • Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties
  • Provide general administrative and practice support to the litigation team
Qualifications
  • Legal Administrative Assistant certificate or equivalent education/training
  • Approximately 13 years of litigation LAA experience
  • Strong understanding of BC litigation procedures and court processes
  • Experience preparing and filing litigation documents
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional, adaptable, and team-oriented approach
