About the Role
OneHealth Kids is seeking a compassionate and reliablePersonal Support Worker (PSW)to support a pediatric client with complex developmental and medical needs in the Ottawa
area.
This role is ideal for someone experienced inpediatric care, developmental disabilities, and hands-on support, who is patient, attentive, and committed to high-quality, family-centered care.
About the Client
Eden is a young child presenting with a combination of complex diagnoses, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Global Developmental Delay
- Hypotonia (low muscle tone)
- Macrocephaly
She requiresconsistent, attentive, and skilled supportacross mobility, feeding, and communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide1:1 direct supportin home and community settings
- Assist withmobility and positioning(lifting, transfers, physical support)
- Supportfeeding and nutrition(liquid diet via straw; monitoring intake)
- Assist withactivities of daily living (ADLs)
- Implementcare plans and therapy strategiesunder supervision
- Provideconstant supervision and safety monitoring
- Supportfine and gross motor activities
- Use or supportalternative communication methods(non-verbal client)
- Maintainaccurate session notes and documentation
- Collaborate with caregivers and clinical team
Required Qualifications
- PSW certification or relevant experience (DSW, ECE, OTA/PTA also considered)
- Experience supporting individuals withautism and/or developmental disabilities
- Comfortable providingphysical assistance and mobility support
- ValidDrivers Licenseand access to a reliable vehicle (required)
- CurrentCPR/First Aid Certification
- ClearVulnerable Sector Check
- Ability to work independently and follow care plans
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience withnon-verbal clients
- Knowledge offeeding support and specialized diets
- Experience withhypotonia or physical disabilities
- Familiarity withABA or therapy-based environments
- Strong observation and communication skills

The salary is listed as $22.00–$32.00 per hour.
This is a part-time position located in Nepean, ON, working in in-home and community-based settings with a collaborative care model.
Provide 1:1 direct support in home and community settings, assist with mobility and positioning, support feeding and nutrition, ADLs, implement care plans, supervise for safety, support motor activities, use non-verbal communication methods, and maintain session notes.
A PSW certification or relevant experience is required; CPR/First Aid, a valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle, and a clear Vulnerable Sector Check are also required.
You will support a pediatric client with autism, global developmental delay, hypotonia, and macrocephaly who requires care across mobility, feeding, and communication.
Work is in-home and community-based with flexible scheduling based on client needs and a collaborative care model with clinical oversight.
Preferred skills include experience with non-verbal clients, feeding support and specialized diets, hypotonia or physical disabilities, ABA or therapy-based environments, and strong observation and communication skills.
