Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Inspire, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of mechanical engineers, technologists, and designers.
- Design Authority: Review and approve comprehensive 3D models, detailed fabrication drawings, and accurate bills of materials (BOMs).
- Product Development: Oversee prototype creation, rigorous validation testing, and hands-on, in-plant commissioning support.
- Technical Translation: Convert complex customer process requirements into precise, executable equipment design specifications.
- Project Execution: Scope projects, estimate costs, plan lead times, and author winning technical proposals.
- Design for Manufacturing: Partner closely with fabrication, machining, and assembly teams to optimize designs for efficient production.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve critical technical challenges during the build, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Post Secondary in mechanical engineering.
- P.Eng.
- Experience with Creo and 3D CAD software
- Knowledge and understanding of heavy equipment and machinery manufacturing
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- People leadership experience
