INTRODUCTION:

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

POSITION SUMMARY

Job type: Security Supervisor/Access Control

Reports to: Regional Manager

Anticipated start date: ASAP

Hourly Rate of Pay: $33.76 per hour

Hours of work: 0700-1900 (12 Hours)(Paid Meal Breaks)

Shifts: Continental Shifts (7 shifts per pay period)

Location: 185 Thistle Trail, Kirkfield, Ontario

Accessible by Transit: NO

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secured
  • Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients
  • Complete site reporting requirements, daily logs and written reports
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment
  • Maintain effective communication
  • Respond to calls for assistance
  • Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors
  • Regular foot patrols outside in all weather conditions
  • Make sure the entry into the work site is always monitored
  • Other duties as may be required by the client or Regional Manager

SUPERVISORY DUTIES

  • Work with CGL Scheduler and Regional Manager on schedules
  • Must be available to work available shift (Day or Nights) in emergencies
  • Maintain all Paperwork is filed and disposed of IAW Clients wishes
  • Must complete the CGL Supervisor Course within 6 months of taking posting
  • Responsible for making all access cards when needed
  • Be knowledgeable in CGL Policies and Procedures
  • Responsible for all Security site training of security staff
  • Work with CGL management on all investigations
  • Other duties as may be required by the client or Regional Manager

Required Education, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Level I Reliability Clearance preferred but not required.
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time and complete frequent patrols outside in rural areas in all weather conditions.
  • Use of Force Level III
  • Customer service/reception/administrative skills
  • The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential
