POSITION SUMMARY:
The Inside Sales/Business Development Coordinatorplays a critical role in supporting the business development team by coordinating client engagement, market research, and administrative tasks. The BDC will work with cross-functional teams and manage CRM. The BDC must be detail-oriented, a proactive self-starter, and capable of driving initiatives, while demonstrating a collaborative and team-oriented approach. Analyzing market data, building out sales pipelines, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively are essential in this role.
You will be responsible for representing Milestone in a professional way that reflects our core values of Ingenuity, Entrepreneurial Spirit, Caring, Accountability and Collaboration.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
CRM Software Management:
- Manage the companys CRM system, driving user uptake and ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
- Oversee CRM outputs and provide insights for enhancing its effectiveness across all users.
Communication & Strategy Support:
- Lead and support national communication strategies and initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader business development goals.
- Liaise with external consultants and internal stakeholders to develop, maintain, and evolve Milestones marketing and business development strategy.
- Provide support across communication and marketing mediums, including the website, social media platforms, and other outreach channels like virtual and in-person conferences and events.
Market Research and Profile Enhancement:
- Take a proactive role in researching methods and opportunities to enhance Milestones market profile and increase visibility.
- Monitor bid sites for potential opportunities and assess them for strategic alignment.
Opportunity and Bid Management:
- Identify and circulate new business opportunities to the Regional Leads.
- Track project tenders, estimates, proposals, and pre-qualifications within CRM tool.
- Provide monthly reports with detailed statistics, along with an executive summary highlighting key findings, issues, and recommended actions. Track the national sales funnel and monitor the progress of various leads and opportunities through the sales pipeline.
Cross-Functional Participation:
- Participate in project kick-off and close-out meetings to remain current on operations and emerging technologies, aligning business development efforts with the latest industry practices.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure communications strategies are well-aligned, timely, and content-rich. This may include the creation and coordination of capture strategies for projects, markets or clients.
Proposal and RFP Management:
- Assist in coordinating proposals, qualifications, and marketing materials, ensuring they meet client needs and project deadlines.
Event Coordination and Networking:
- Support and help organize networking events, conferences, and other business development activities, both virtual and in-person.
- Represent the company at industry events to identify new opportunities and build relationships.
Administrative Support:
- Provide administrative support to the business development team, including managing calendars, coordinating meetings, and preparing reports.
Health and Safety
- Read, understand, and participate in MECIs Corporate Health and Safety Program, Policy, and Procedures.
- Ensure health and safety are considered in the performance of all activities.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales or a related field.
- Proven track record of securing new business and growing a pipeline in a competitive market.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
- Proficiency in CRM software and other business development tools.
The BDC role requires someone that is detail-oriented and a highly organized self-starter, proactive in finding solutions and driving initiatives. Possesses excellent interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach to working with others. In addition, they will have the following skillset.
Organizational and Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication for coordinating with internal teams, clients, and external consultants, as well as preparing reports and proposals
CRM Management: Proficiency in using and managing CRM software to track client interactions, opportunities, and sales funnels effectively.
Market Research and Analysis: Ability to conduct market research to identify trends, new opportunities, and methods to enhance the companys market profile.
Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work cross-functionally with different teams and departments, both internally and externally.
Problem-Solving and Initiative: A proactive mindset to identify issues and offer solutions, while driving initiatives forward independently.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and digital communication platforms, as well as website and social media management.
Networking and Relationship Building: Comfortable attending events and interacting with industry professionals to build relationships and identify new business opportunities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is usually in an office environment. Occasional field visits may be required.
