Maintenance Technician

Location: Vaughan, ON
Division: Dass Rebar
Pay Rate: $19–$22 per hour

Dass Rebar is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to support night‑shift operations. The successful candidate will perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on rebar processing machinery to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production.

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on rebar processing machines such as shearlines, bending machines, straightening machines, and cranes.

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues to minimize downtime.

• Conduct regular inspections of equipment, tools, and safety devices to ensure compliance and optimal operation.

• Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and carry out corrective maintenance.

• Assist in installation, alignment, and commissioning of new machines and equipment.

• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and spare parts usage records.

• Coordinate with production supervisors to plan maintenance activities with minimal disruption.

• Ensure proper lubrication, cleaning, and adjustments according to manufacturer guidelines.

• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements.

• Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements for continuous productivity.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• Experience in mechanical maintenance within manufacturing or industrial environments (rebar or steel industry an asset).

• Strong understanding of mechanical and hydraulic systems; basic electrical troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

• Good problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently on night shift.

• Physically able to stand, lift, bend, and work around machinery.

• Night Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM

• Full‑time position
