Shop Welder

MSCP Heat Management Solutions
Location: Sherwood Park, Alberta
Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

Welding & Fabrication

  • Perform high-quality welding using traditional processes (MIG, TIG, Stick as required)

  • Read and interpret drawings, weld procedures, and fabrication details

  • Fit, assemble, and fabricate components to specification

  • Ensure all welds meet quality and safety standards

  • Execute laser welding for specialized applications (training provided as needed)

Quality & System Contribution

  • Participate in QA/QC processes, inspections, and continuous improvement efforts

  • Identify and escalate issues that may impact flow or downstream work

  • Support a clean, organized, and efficient shop environment

  • Contribute to maintaining consistent production quality and throughput

Team & Operational Support

  • Work collaboratively with fabrication, engineering, and operations nodes

  • Support shifting priorities based on project demands and system needs

  • Participate in internal training and development, particularly around new technologies

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Welder certification or equivalent experience

  • CWB certification considered an asset

  • Experience with MIG/TIG welding in a fabrication or shop environment

  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and weld symbols

  • Strong attention to detail and workmanship

Preferred / Differentiators

  • Exposure to or willingness to learn laser welding

Position Details

  • Location: Streambank Facility – Sherwood Park, AB

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday (shop-based role)

  • Hours: 40 hours/week (with potential for additional hours based on workload)

  • Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience

  • Benefits: Available after 3 months

  • RRSP matched after 6 months
