Position Title: Warehouse Associate Nights (9:00 PM 5:00 AM, Sunday to Thursday)
Reports To: Warehouse PM Lead
Direct Reports: None
Compensation: $22.00/hour + $2.00/hour night shift premium
Position Summary (Success Profile)
A successful candidate in this role demonstrates strong teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and accuracy. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for the efficient and secure handling of incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring all deliveries meet food safety and quality standards.
This role requires the ability to problem-solve discrepancies such as missing documentation or shipment issues, maintain accurate inventory records, and safely operate material handling equipment. The position also supports monthly inventory counts and may occasionally assist with supplier pickups as required.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Warehouse PM Lead, the Warehouse Associate is responsible for receiving and processing products from various vendors at the receiving dock. This includes verifying shipments, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and maintaining accurate documentation and inventory tracking.
The role plays a critical part in ensuring operational efficiency, product integrity, and compliance with company standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Forklift certification preferred
- Experience in the food industry considered an asset
- Experience using ERP/SAP systems is an asset
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic mathematical and numerical skills
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare the receiving dock for incoming deliveries
- Receive and verify shipments against purchase orders
- Inspect products for quality, condition, and compliance with food safety standards (e.g., expiration dates, allergen requirements such as nut-free, pork-free, shellfish-free)
- Ensure all products are in saleable condition with acceptable code dating
- Safely operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks to move and store products
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment in accordance with company policies and safety regulations
- Complete all required documentation and maintain accurate records for tracking and reporting
- Oversee the secure loading and unloading of deliveries
- Sort and distribute incoming shipments efficiently
- Conduct monthly inventory counts and report discrepancies to the Warehouse PM Lead and Production Administrator
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to missing shipments, documentation, or delivery discrepancies
- Support supplier pickups using a company vehicle as required
- Perform additional duties as assigned
