Position: Corporate Accountant

We are currently looking for a Corpoarte Accountant. The Corporate Accountant is responsible for overseeing corporate-level accounting functions, financial reporting, and compliance. This role works closely with project accounting team, payroll, operations leadership, and executive management to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with regulatory and tax requirements in British Columbia.
The ideal candidate has experience in construction or project-based accounting environments, strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach.


Key Responsibilities

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with ASPE or IRFS
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
Prepare and file government remittances including GST, PST, Source Deductions, WCB and EHT
Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations
Monitor daily bank balances, reconciling cheque clearing and
Ensure compliance with federal and provincial tax regulations (GST/PST, corporate income tax, payroll tax and statutory deductions)
Manage intercompany payable and receivable transactions and reconciliations
Fixed Asset accounting, including capitalization and depreciation of our heavy equipment fleet
Assist with budgeting and forecast processing


Qualifications and Skills


Canadian CPA considered a strong asset
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 3 years experience in corporate accounting in construction or project-based industries
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Experiencing using ERP systems (Experience with Acumatica an asset)
Very high attention to detail
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and demands accurately and on time
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Open to Full time or Part time with a flexible schedule


Salary
$75,000 - $90,000 Full time/Part time to be negotiated
