Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Long-Term Care
Shared Position – Bob Rumball Home for the Deaf & Victoria Village Manor
Location: Ontario
Position Type: Full-Time (Split Between Two Organizations)
Reports To: Executive Directors / Directors of Care/Medical Director
Position Overview
Bob Rumball Home for the Deaf and Victoria Village Manor are seeking a collaborative and resident-focused Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide advanced clinical care across both long-term care communities.
This shared role offers a unique opportunity to serve two mission-driven organizations committed to excellence in seniors' care — one specializing in culturally and linguistically appropriate care for Deaf seniors, and the other rooted in community-based, resident-centered long-term care.
The Nurse Practitioner will play a key leadership role in improving resident outcomes, reducing avoidable hospital transfers, supporting chronic disease management, and strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration across both homes.

Victoria Village Manor
Victoria Village is a vibrant seniors' community located in the heart of Barrie that provides an aging-in-place experience. Offering 57 Life Lease suites, 16 Senior Residential Suites, a 128 bed Long Term Care facility, and commercial space. Victoria Village is a unique, mixed use campus that provides personalized care and services for those at every stage of aging..
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct comprehensive health assessments and develop care plans
· Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions
· Prescribe medications and order/interpret diagnostics
· Provide on-site urgent care response to reduce hospital transfers
· Lead chronic disease management initiatives
· Support palliative and end-of-life care planning
· Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care conferences
· Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to nursing staff
· Support infection prevention and quality improvement programs
· Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records
Qualifications
· Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Nurse Practitioner
· Primary Health Care NP certification
· Minimum 2–3 years of clinical experience (long-term care preferred)
· Strong geriatric assessment and chronic disease management skills
· Excellent collaboration and leadership abilities
· Experience working with diverse populations
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in long-term care settings
· Knowledge of Deaf culture and/or ASL (or willingness to learn)
· Palliative care experience
· Wound care expertise
· Experience with PointClickCare or similar electronic systems
