Thrive Freeze Dry, a rapidly growing freeze-dried manufacturing company is recruiting for a Machine Operator in Langley BC reporting to the Production Supervisor. This opportunity is primarily responsible for pre-treatment food processing duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process frozen materials into final freeze-dried treats that meet specifications and standards
- Ensure product adheres to plant's quality assurance programs
- Operate various production tools and equipment, including bandsaw
- Follow the 5S program to ensure organized workspace
- Support post-processing activities, including final packaging of goods
- Assist team with troubleshooting production tools and equipment
- Assist with machine start-up, materials and tools inventory for daily production
- Record material usage, quality control checks and other as required
- Communicate any issues or concerns to supervisors or team leads, including those related to production, quality, or safety.
- Participate in organization programs, including quality and safety
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg of raw material
- Ability to work with and handle raw, frozen, and fresh products
- Experience in fresh and/or frozen food production, meat processing, butchering, or similar food manufacturing environments (including human food production) is considered an asset
- Ability to manage your time and work efficiently
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Good communication skills
- Valid forklift license is an asset

- Pre-treatment Room: -2°ree;c; heavy lifting up to 25kg
- Post-treatment Room: room temperature
- Wet environment with natural food processing odors
- Long standing hours and consistent bending, twisting, lifting and walking
Foire aux questions
This position is based in Langley, BC, and reports to the Production Supervisor at Thrive Freeze Dry.
You would process frozen materials into final freeze-dried products, operate production tools including a bandsaw, support post-processing and final packaging, and assist with machine start-up and troubleshooting.
You will ensure product adherence to the plant's quality assurance programs, participate in quality and safety initiatives, and communicate issues to supervisors or team leads.
You must be able to lift up to 25 kg and work in a pre-treatment environment with long standing hours and frequent bending, twisting, lifting, and walking.
Experience in fresh and/or frozen food production, meat processing, butchering, or similar food manufacturing environments is considered an asset.
A valid forklift license is considered an asset, and you may assist with inventory and equipment troubleshooting as part of the duties.
