Our client is a leading premium casual dining and craft beer destination with multiple locations across North America. The concept was built around celebrating the craft beer movement by making high-quality, approachable beer experiences available to all guests.

They're in search of a dynamic, hands-on Assistant General Manager (AGM) to partner with the General Manager in leading daily operations of a high-volume, fast-paced craft beer and dining establishment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality leader who thrives in a vibrant, team-oriented environment and is passionate about craft beer culture, exceptional guest service, and operational excellence. The AGM will play a key role in driving team performance, guest satisfaction, and profitability while upholding our client's high standards and values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and optimize day-to-day front-of-house and back-of-house operations, including service flow, labor forecasting, scheduling, and inventory management (with a strong focus on the extensive beer, cocktail, and food programs).
  • Lead, mentor, recruit, train, coach, and develop a high-performing team of hospitality professionals; foster a positive, supportive “family” culture and build future leaders.
  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences by maintaining our client's standards, proactively resolving issues, and ensuring every visit creates memorable moments.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager on financial performance, including sales growth, cost control, budgeting, and profitability targets.
  • Champion innovation in operational strategies, menu execution, events, and guest engagement while continuously improving quality and efficiency.
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, alcohol service, and regulatory requirements, as well as our client's sustainability and community initiatives.
  • Step up as the acting General Manager when needed and support broader initiatives such as marketing, local partnerships, and special events.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 2–3+ years of progressive management experience in a high-volume restaurant, bar, or craft beer-focused hospitality environment (previous AGM or similar leadership role strongly preferred).
  • Proven success in team leadership, staff development, performance management, and creating a positive workplace culture.
  • Strong knowledge of craft beer, beverage programs, food service operations, and guest service excellence is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with a natural ability to motivate and coach others.
  • Energetic, positive, approachable demeanor and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting with flexible availability (evenings, weekends, and holidays required).
  • Passion for hospitality, craft beer, local community engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to our client's core values of integrity, authenticity, sustainability, and “doing the right thing.”
