Description
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our client's expanding team in Winnipeg, MB.
Reporting directly to the Vice President, Transmission Operations, this position calls for a seasoned professional with a strong track record of successfully planning, executing, and delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with high-quality standards. The role requires leadership of cross-functional teams, collaboration with external partners, and strict adherence to safety and environmental requirements.
Please Note: This role requires up to 75% travel and on-site presence, including potential assignments at project sites across Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and drive project strategies and objectives aligned with organizational priorities
- Partner with cross-functional teams to plan and execute project deliverables
- Lead, mentor, and support project team members, including performance management
- Manage projects through all phases, from initiation to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met
- Develop and execute procurement plans to balance cost, quality, and schedule considerations
- Negotiate agreements with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to achieve optimal outcomes
- Oversee procurement activities and cultivate strong supplier relationships
- Ensure adherence to safety policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards
- Address construction and project-related challenges proactively to maintain progress
- Provide regular updates on project financials and performance to senior leadership
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, clients, regulators, and partners
- Promote clear communication and coordination across all project stakeholders
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline
- Minimum 10 years of experience managing transmission-related projects
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage transmission projects up to 500 kV
- Proven ability to standardize processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Exposure to or involvement in business development activities
Preferred Credentials
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation
- Experience working within multiple regulatory environments across Canada
