Location: Corner Brook, NL

Start date: June 25, 2026

PayRate: $16.35

Duration: 35 hours/week

Reporting totheRegional Settlement Coordinator, theCommunity Service Workerwillmainly assisttheRegional Settlement Coordinatorin building community capacity for newcomers in the region.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist theRegional Settlement Coordinatorin planning, developing, and implementing various cultural and recreational activities, projects, and programming to support newcomer integration

• Assistthe Community Connections Officer, as needed, in supporting community engagement and program delivery

• Assistwith the development of marketing and promotional materials, including informational brochures in hard copy, digital, electronic, and social media formats

• Assistin coordinating events and presentations to create awareness of programming designed to support newcomers

• Maintain regular and open communication with program team members and all other co-workers

Qualifications and Experience:

• Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity in working with diverse clients

• Efficient communication skills in English (written and verbal)

• Ability to speak a second language is an asset

• Experience working with newcomer populations is an asset

Conditions of Employment:

• Hold a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) and have legal authorization to work in Canada

• Bebetween 15 and 30 years of age at the start of theemployment

• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment

• Flexible to work outside of core hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm)

• Must have own means of transportation

• Position is subject to a satisfactory Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check from the RCMP
