Position Summary
We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Shipping Planner to support shipping, logistics, and shipment planning in our fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This role is responsible for coordinating daily shipments, preparing shipping and customs documentation, monitoring production readiness, and maintaining accurate operational records. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, solid Microsoft Excel capabilities, and experience coordinating shipping activities in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily shipments, pickups, deliveries, and transportation activities.
- Prepare shipping documentation, including packing slips, bills of lading, courier paperwork, commercial invoices, and customs documents.
- Review production schedules and coordinate shipment readiness with Production, Scheduling, Inventory, and other internal teams.
- Track shipments and follow up on delays, delivery issues, and urgent customer requests.
- Maintain accurate shipping records, production paperwork, and ERP/system transactions.
- Create and maintain Excel trackers, shipping logs, and operational reports.
- Coordinate import and export shipments in compliance with applicable Canadian and international trade requirements.
- Prepare and review CUSMA documentation, certificates of origin, and other cross-border shipping documents.
- Work with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and carriers to support timely international shipments.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing, shipping, logistics, or production planning is required.
- Previous experience with import/export documentation and cross-border shipping is required.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required.
- Experience working with ERP or MRP systems is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation and data.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong sense of urgency, accountability, and problem-solving ability.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Preferred Attributes
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience preparing customs and export documentation for shipments between Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
- Familiarity with CUSMA requirements and rules of origin.
- Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and transportation carriers.
- Experience with production scheduling, inventory movement, or shipment planning.
Schedule & Pay Details
- Shift: Day shift (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM)
- Location: Port Coquitlam, BC
- Pay: $25.00 per hour
- Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
- Work Location: In person
