Civil Foreman
Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Civil Foreman to work on various civil scopes for projects in Alberta. We offer competitive wages, work / life balance, great opportunity for advancement, training and RRSP matching plan.
The Foreman is responsible for field leadership and delivery of projects specific to their scope / expertise and must provide direction to field personnel to meet (an hopefully exceed) targets and expectations related to production, schedule, safety, and quality management.
Responsibilities:
- Quality management working with project management and survey / consultant teams to ensure that workmanship meets / exceeds specifications
- Health and safety management including hazard identification and analysis, worker competencies and HSE reporting
- Schedule management ensure project timelines are maintained
- Provide supervision on site and daily direction to crew
- Delegation of tasks for all crew members
- Site maintenance management of site housekeeping in accordance with client and company guidelines
- Lead inspections and incidents - address deficiencies / issues through corrective actions
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of experience as a civil supervisor
- Additional years of civil experience is required (non-supervisory)
- Strong time management skills able to keep crews to task and maintain an established work schedule to complete the projects in a timely fashion
- Organized and able to complete regular project documentation
- Able to work independently and follow instruction from the superintendent
- Able to support other positions as needed
- Strong communication skills able to delegate and provide instructions clearly with sufficient detail
- Proven leadership capabilities and able to mentor workers for advancement
- First Aid and other certifications are considered assets
- Valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract
