Intermediate Electrical Engineer

We are seekingan intermediatelevelElectricalEngineerto support the design and fabrication teamsand who alsobringsprofessionalismand dedication to the work we do and the communities we serve.

The successful candidate willdemonstrateexperience intheselectionand sizingofelectricalequipment forwater and wastewater treatment systems.

Responsibilities:

• Perform analysistosizeelectricalequipmentthatmeetsClient specifications, codes, and standards.

• Act as electrical lead on projects

• Review engineeringdocumentand verify compliance of selectedelectricalequipment to client specifications and industry standards and codes.

• Work with theelectrical and I&C (instrumentation and controls)designand fabrication teams tosupport:

• Verifyingequipmentselectionandsizingprovidedbythe application engineeringgroup.

• Schematic and wiring diagram development (AutoCAD Electrical / EPLAN)

• Panel layout design,componentsizing, thermal analysis, cable management

• BOM creation andcomponentselection(breakers, drives, PLCs, HMIs, relays, PSUs)

• Load calculations, short-circuit analysis, cable sizing

• Control system architecture definition (not platformselectionor programming)

• I/O lists

• Review ofFabrication Drawings, Assembly Drawings, Bills of Materials,General Arrangement Drawings, Equipment Layout,andsupports the development of change orders,etc.

• Assistproject managerswith client needs by taking part in client meetings or calls.

• Evaluate and recommend cost-effective design options without compromising quality and performance.

• Collaborate with internal departments (fabrication, sales, etc.)and external stakeholders(vendors, owners, owners engineers, etc.)to achieve desired project outcomes.

• Stay updated with industry best practices and technologies through training and self-improvement initiatives.

• Helpinthe continual improvement of AWCs Quality Management Systems practices, procedures, templates,and checklistsbyparticipatingin design reviews, feedback sessions, and process improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.

• Assistin the development of standard product offerings

• Mentor and train junior team members.

Requirements:

• Post Secondary Degree inElectricalEngineering

• Holds active P.Eng. registration in the province of BC or Alberta.

• 5-10years of work experience designing, sizing, and selectingprocesselectricalequipment. Designing and developing electrical and control panels.

• Strong communicationand written skills

• Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite, exposure to Autodesk products is an asset.

• Strong understanding of engineering first principlesutilizedin the design ofelectrical and controlssystems is an asset.

• Eligible to work in Canada.
