Position: Retail Sales Representative/Merchandiser

Region: St. John's, Newfoundland

Reports To: Sales Manager

Anticipated Start Date: May 15, 2022

SUMMARY:

The Retail Sales Representative is responsible for providing excellent customer service to all accounts in their specified territory. In addition, gathering field information and representing our clients in a professional and courteous manner is vital to the success of this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To make store visits to new and existing retailers.
• To provide store-level support on new product launches and initiatives.
• To perform store audit checks.
• To manage retail distributors and pre-sell feature activity and track featured activity.
• Manage shelf space and location of products.
• Build rapport at store and head office levels.
• To participate at various distributor and food-related trade shows.

The successful candidates must possess the following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with a strong command of the English language.
• Have excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Have excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Have excellent presentation skills - in both the boardroom and kitchen.
• Be a self-starter and able to work independently.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

• Candidate must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.
• Work may be performed in an office, warehouse, or restaurant environment.
• Stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb.
• May have possible exposure to dust and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds.
• Flexible work hours to accommodate demands of the position (some weekends included).
• May require travel up to 80% of the time within the territory, and overnights may be required.
