Senior Structures Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Team Leader

At Coulson Aviation, we operate, modify, and maintain a diverse fleet of specialized aircraft supporting aerial firefighting operations worldwide. Our fleet includes C-130 Hercules, Boeing 737 FIRELINERS™, Cessna Citation 550 and 560 aircraft, CH-47D Chinooks, and Sikorsky S-61 and S-76 helicopters. We operate across Canada, the United States, Australia, and Chile.

As our company and aircraft fleet continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Senior Aircraft Structures AME – Team Lead to join our team. This hands-on leadership position is responsible for coordinating daily structural-maintenance activities, supporting employee development, and ensuring aircraft repairs and modifications are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Lead daily toolbox meetings to communicate priorities, assign work, and prepare the team for the day.
• Plan and delegate structural-maintenance tasks based on employee qualifications, project requirements, and established schedules.
• Work closely with management to plan and execute projects, identify potential challenges, and develop practical solutions.
• Monitor project progress and adjust resources or priorities to help ensure schedules and operational requirements are met.
• Coordinate the ordering of parts, materials, and consumables needed for structural-maintenance projects.
• Provide day-to-day technical direction, coaching, mentoring, and support to Structures Technicians and apprentices.
• Identify individual and team training needs and provide recommendations to management.
• Monitor employee attendance and address concerns in accordance with company procedures.
• Provide meaningful input into employee performance evaluations and development discussions.
• Work alongside the team to complete sheet-metal and composite inspections, repairs, modifications, and installations.
• Interpret aircraft drawings, structural repair manuals, technical data, and process standards.
• Ensure completed work meets applicable regulatory, quality, safety, and company requirements.
• Ensure worksheets, technical logs, tracking updates, and other required maintenance records are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
• Promote a safe, respectful, organized, and productive working environment.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• A valid Transport Canada AME “S” licence is strongly preferred.
• Significant aircraft structures experience, including sheet-metal and composite repairs.
• Previous experience leading or supervising aircraft-maintenance personnel.
• Strong technical knowledge of aircraft structural inspection, repair, fabrication, and modification practices.
• Demonstrated ability to plan work, establish priorities, delegate tasks, and maintain project schedules.
• A supportive leadership style and a genuine interest in coaching and developing others.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• The ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, engineering, quality, and other departments.
• A dependable, accountable, and safety-focused approach.
• The ability to travel outside Canada when operationally required.
