Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to join a team in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to the Engineering Department, ensuring the effective design, development, and implementation of production facilities, systems, and processes. This role requires a proven track record in engineering leadership, project management, and process improvement within a regulated production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers to support product launches, equipment installation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with product development teams to transition new innovations into full-scale manufacturing.
- Develop and execute automation and process improvement strategies to enhance efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of equipment, utilities, and systems required for production operations.
- Provide technical support to R&D, Production, and Facilities departments, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Direct and manage all aspects of project planning, budgeting, and execution to ensure timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Monitor and manage capital expenditures and operational budgets for engineering-related initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across all projects and operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive engineering experience, including at least 4 years in a management capacity.
- Background in industrial or production environments is required; experience in pharmaceutical, food, or cannabis industries is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated leadership, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage across multiple departments.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications and ERP systems (SAP experience is an asset).
