Summary:
The backs hop position is one of utmost importance as it is the role that sets up success for each day. Whether it is opening or closing, both roles are highly important as they set up the team for success each and every day. Essentially the back shop provides and maintains all the tools that golfers may need for their round. The back shop is a very versatile role as they will be pulled in many directions during the day. This job starts earlier than most ARP jobs. Opening the back shop you are required to arrive 1 hour prior to the first tee time. The opening shift will go until 1pm. Closing, the shifts start at either 1pm or 4pm and go until the last cart comes off the course.
Primary Responsibilities:
- This is a very physical role. A backshop shift will require the person to walk at least 15,000 steps on any given shift
The process is as follows of Typical Opening Responsibilities:
- Check the ball machine to make sure it is as full as possible for the range
- Drive and manage robotic picker on the range
- Set up time cards and bring up carts to fill the staging area
- Bring up range baskets 30 minutes before the first time
- Ensure all member bags are set up on carts and are ready for play
- Make sure that the locker room is tidy, fully stocked with towels and ready for the day
- Continuously bring carts to the staging area. As they come in from the course wash, dry and bring them back to the staging area
- Continuously check and ensure that there are enough range balls for members and guests
- Assist in setting up weddings, small groups, and tournaments
The process is as follows of Typical Closing Responsibilities:
- Ensure all carts are adequately cleaned and parked correctly
- Assist in tearing down tournaments and weddings
- Remove all baskets from the ball machine at 7pm, 4pm on Sundays
- Check with Pro Shop to see if the reader board needs to be updated
- Change all clubhouse garbages (10th tee, front of clubhouse, back patio), along with all back shop garbages
- Print the tee sheet for the following day and set up any member bags who are playing
- Ensure the ball machine has been adequately filled by the end of the night
- Collect all empty range baskets from the range and bring them to the backshop
- Collect all range balls and baskets on the chipping green
- Check the locker rooms for used towels and do laundry, ensure locker rooms are fully stocked
- Do a final count of the carts at the end of the night
- Ensure all member's clubs have been cleaned and put away
