Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to the Project Team
- Ensure the project is completed on schedule and on budget by prioritizing requests, managing project scope, work plans and schedules, roles, resource requirements, and deliverables
- Develop the detailed change request outlining changes to the project plan, schedule, resources, and budget for any change requests
- Report progress, risks, and issues to the Business Owners and Executive Sponsors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Engineering
- Project Management Professional designation
- Other designations may be considered – for example PRINCE2
- Minimum 7 years of experience managing integrated projects and teams
- Minimum 3 years of IT experience, with healthcare IT experience
- Experience working in a highly integrated environment
- Working knowledge of software development technology, programming, workflow analysis principles, networks and protocols.
- Understanding of technical designs, specifications, and principles of systems and software applications.
- Development and architecture experience considered an asset.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and principles.
- Healthcare industry experience considered an asset.
- Ability to operate and rally teams under pressure.
- A laser focus on objectives and big picture impact and outcomes.
- Clear communication exercised with a high degree of tact and professionalism in resolving conflict.
- Executive-level communication skills are required to develop and present complex information including written documentation and verbal presentations to audiences with varying levels of comprehension ability and varying industry backgrounds.
- Ability to comprehend complex business issues.
- Leadership and supervisory skills to lead project teams through the project phases.
- Initiative and independent judgment required to identify and flag issues, and to solve complex problems.
- Human relations skills required to ensure compliance and promote acceptance through negotiating with staff and suppliers where there is a requirement to resolve the conflict or situation.
- Human relations skills required when meeting with vendors and SCA staff regarding compliance and acceptance issues, such as promoting standards to enhance interoperability between stakeholders or meet certification requirements.
- Ability to establish and maintain high trust working relationships with co-workers, patients/clients, senior leadership team and/or the community.
