About the Role We're looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative HR Business Partner (HRBP) with a passion for Labour Relations (LR) and Employee Relations (ER) to join our client's team.
This midtown office is conveniently located near public transit and subway access.
In this role, you'll report directly to our Director of Labour and Employee Relations, a seasoned leader who is not only an expert in the field but also a dedicated mentor and coach. As an HRBP, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees across the organization, managing the full scope of Labour Relations (LR) and Employee Relations (ER) responsibilities.
From grievance management and collective agreement interpretation to leading HR projects, you'll have a strategic and operational impact in a multi-union environment.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with leadership to align HR and LR strategies with organizational goals, offering expert advice and solutions.
- Handle grievance management (Tier 1, possibly Tier 2), interpret collective agreements, and ensure compliance in a unionized environment.
- Navigate the complexities of a multi-union environment with confidence, professionalism, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Provide mentorship to leaders and employees, empowering them to navigate challenges and grow within the organization.
- Lead and contribute to HR and LR initiatives that enhance processes, culture, and employee engagement.
- Use analytics to inform decisions, improve HR practices, and drive continuous improvement.
- Champion an inclusive, collaborative, and positive work environment through innovative communication and engagement strategies.
- Have experience in Labour Relations, with a proven track record in unionized environments (multi-union experience is a plus).
- Be a natural coach and mentor, supporting employees and leaders at all levels.
- Excel at juggling multiple priorities while staying focused on delivering results.
- Bring expertise in Employee Relations, including conflict resolution and grievance management.
- Be driven to improve and evolve HR practices in alignment with organizational goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of HR experience, with a focus on Labour Relations in unionized environments.
- Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to guide decisions.
- Salary range of $80,000 - $83,000,plus a 5% annual bonus.
