Machine Operator
The Machine Operator position offers support and takes the lead in the day-to-day production of fabricated metal parts used in manufacturing various types of windows and driver protection systems for the mass transit industry. We are looking for safety-conscious, skilled and team-driven individuals who are capable of working in a fast-paced production environment.
The Successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
- Setting up and running various machines based on the work orders provided.
- Install tooling and secure workpieces properly.
- Adjust machine settings for speed, feed, and depth of cut.
- Working with your hands, lifting, and moving large pieces of metal, and standing for hours at a time, requires physical strength and stamina.
- Use of precision measurement instruments.
- Operate machinery safely and efficiently.
- Follow all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Ensuring all items are correctly labelled.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Performing quality checks to ensure items meet quality standards.
- Collaborating with team members to meet production goals.
The ideal candidate for this opportunity will have:
- Strong ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals.
- The ability to lift to 50 lbs. continuously when required.
- The ability to work unsupervised in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- The ability to read/interpret drawings/breakdowns.
- Understanding the importance of producing quality products.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
