Industry Sector: Professional services in talent acquisition and workforce solutions, supporting audit, assurance and financial reporting engagements across public and private companies. We operate within the broader assurance and corporate reporting advisory ecosystem in Canada, delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services.

Primary Title: Assurance Manager

About the Opportunity

We are hiring an experienced Assurance Manager to join a growing, client-focused team in Canada on a hybrid work model. This role leads assurance engagements end-to-end, elevates client relationships, and coaches staff to deliver technically strong, commercially aware audit and assurance services that meet Canadian regulatory standards.

Role Responsibilities
  • Lead planning, execution and delivery of statutory audits and assurance engagements (financial statements, compilations, review engagements) ensuring compliance with CAS and applicable reporting frameworks.
  • Assess risk and design tests of controls and substantive procedures; document findings and recommend pragmatic internal control improvements.
  • Manage client relationships and partner with senior stakeholders to resolve technical accounting, reporting and disclosure matters.
  • Supervise, mentor and develop audit teams—assign work, review deliverables, provide timely feedback and ensure consistent quality across engagements.
  • Oversee engagement budgets, timelines and status reporting; drive efficient use of audit technology and standardized methodologies to improve productivity.
  • Contribute to quality-control processes, technical knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives across the assurance practice.
Skills Qualifications

Must-Have

  • CPA/CA designation (or nearing completion) with 5+ years of progressive assurance/audit experience in a public accounting or professional services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP (IFRS and/or ASPE), CAS, and financial reporting requirements for private and/or public entities.
  • Proven track record managing multiple engagements, delivering on timelines and maintaining high-quality workpapers and reporting.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills—able to mentor staff, interact with clients and present findings to senior management.
  • Proficiency with audit tools and advanced Excel; experience with CaseWare or similar audit software preferred.

Preferred

  • Experience with SOX/compliance programs, industry specialization (e.g., financial services, manufacturing, not-for-profit), or exposure to data-analytics tools (ACL/IDEA/Python).
  • Bilingual English/French capability for servicing clients in multiple provinces.
Benefits Culture Highlights
  • Hybrid work model with flexible scheduling to support work–life balance.
  • Competitive compensation, professional development support (CPA funding and training) and clear career progression.
  • Collaborative team culture focused on mentorship, technical excellence and continuous improvement.
