Job SummaryClient Plant is currently seeking a Mechanical Assembler to join our team on the Afternoon Shift. In this role, you will interpret manufacturing documents and mechanically assemble, fit, and install prefabricated parts or modify sub-assemblies and structures using hand and power tools. This position plays a key role in supporting product quality, accuracy, and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as assembly project lead for low to moderately complex projects.
- Guide and oversee the work of MO2 assemblers, ensuring quality and accountability.
- Interpret engineering drawings (excluding wiring) and Oracle Bill of Materials.
- Use 3D model viewing software and Microsoft Office for tasks such as emailing and e-turnbacks.
- Flex into other departments as needed to support production goals.
- Verify that picked/delivered parts match requirements; resolve discrepancies with supervisor.
- Escalate drawing or documentation issues through the proper channels.
- Repair or modify units based on feedback from testing and inspection.
- Assemble in accordance with CSA and UL codes.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency of internal KANBAN processes.
- Ensure consistent assembly methods for units within the same order.
- Conduct visual inspections of materials pre- and post-assembly for conformance to specifications.
- Clean and prepare assembled units for testing.
- Verify performance and compliance of completed components and adjust as needed.
- Support packing and shipping of finished goods.
- Use various tools, fixtures, and gauges to perform adjustments or repairs.
- Perform additional duties as required to support production goals.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of assembly experience in a manufacturing environment
- Completed High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs independently, and up to 50 lbs with assistance using proper lifting techniques
- Legally eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship, now and in the future
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in product assembly or repair
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools
- Basic computer skills; familiarity with Oracle functions
- Ability to train and mentor team members
- Consistently demonstrates high-quality workmanship
- Actively participates in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, including 5S and safety programs
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in problem-solving, mathematics, computer use, and troubleshooting techniques
