The Assistant Service Manager supports the Service Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the electrical service department. This role involves coordinating service technicians, managing customer requests, ensuring timely completion of service calls, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The Assistant Service Manager also helps drive efficiency, safety, and quality in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Service Manager in supervising and scheduling electrical service technicians.
  • Coordinate daily service calls, ensuring proper resource allocation and timely response.
  • Communicate with clients to understand service needs, provide updates, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Prepare and review service work orders, invoices, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Support the service team with technical guidance and troubleshooting as required.
  • Assist with estimating small service jobs and change orders.
  • Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and equipment used in service projects.
  • Monitor team performance and provide input for training and development.
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent trade certification (309A Electrician License is an asset).
  • 3+ years of experience in the electrical industry; prior leadership or coordination experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and service work.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); knowledge of service management software is an asset.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership abilities.
