About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and responsible Caretaker to oversee the maintenance, security, and day-to-day management of our premises. The Caretaker will ensure the property is safe, clean, and well-maintained, providing support to staff, residents, and visitors. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, trustworthy, and proactive in addressing issues before they become problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the general upkeep, cleanliness, and safety of the building and surrounding areas.

  • Carry out minor repairs, basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks as needed.

  • Monitor and maintain heating, lighting, and other utilities to ensure proper functioning.

  • Open, close, and secure the premises on a daily basis.

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and report major issues to management.

  • Supervise contractors, deliveries, and external service providers.

  • Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

  • Provide assistance to residents, staff, or tenants as required.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Previous experience as a Caretaker, Janitor, Facilities Assistant, or in a similar role.

  • Basic knowledge of maintenance, repairs, and health & safety practices.

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

  • Physical stamina to perform manual tasks and handle equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Relevant technical or maintenance certifications (preferred but not required).

  • At least 13 years of experience in facilities maintenance or caretaking.
