We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Category General Manager (CGM) to lead strategy, growth, and performance of a key business category. The CGM will own the P&L, drive sales and profitability, manage vendor relationships, and develop customer-focused strategies to maximize market share. This role requires strong business acumen, leadership, and deep expertise in category management within a competitive retail or e-commerce environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute the overall category strategy to achieve sales, margin, and market share goals.
Own the P&L for the category, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
Identify new product opportunities, trends, and customer insights to enhance category offerings.
Build and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships to optimize pricing, promotions, and product availability.
Lead assortment planning, pricing, merchandising, and promotional strategies.
Collaborate with marketing, supply chain, and operations teams to drive category growth.
Monitor and analyze category performance, competitive landscape, and consumer trends.
Develop demand forecasts and ensure effective inventory planning.
Manage and mentor category managers, analysts, and cross-functional teams.
Drive innovation and digital initiatives to strengthen customer engagement and online presence.
Proven experience as a Category Manager, Head of Category, or General Manager in retail/e-commerce.
Strong understanding of category management, merchandising, and supply chain principles.
Demonstrated ability to manage P&L and deliver business results.
Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field (MBA preferred).
