Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Set-Up Operator & Programmer to join our Milling Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision components according to specifications. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Program CNC milling machines using G-code, MasterCAM, or other CAM software.
Set up CNC milling machines, including tooling, fixtures, and work offsets.
Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.
Perform first-piece inspections and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality.
Operate CNC machines to produce parts within tolerance and ensure high-quality standards.
Troubleshoot machining and programming issues to minimize downtime.
Maintain and monitor equipment, ensuring proper functionality and preventive maintenance.
Collaborate with engineers, quality control, and production staff to optimize machining processes.
Maintain accurate records of production, set-ups, and machine maintenance.
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures in the workplace.
Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist, Set-Up Operator, or Programmer in a milling environment.
Proficiency with CNC programming (Fanuc, Haas, or similar controls).
Strong knowledge of CAM software (MasterCAM, GibbsCAM, or equivalent).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
Experience with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).
Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Skills
Experience in high-precision machining and tight tolerances.
Knowledge of 5-axis milling and complex part programming.
Familiarity with ISO standards and lean manufacturing principles.
Basic knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).
