The Position

Sustaining The Berkeley properties at the highest level of cleanliness, the Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring exemplary service, in a courteous and efficient manner.

Housekeepers are team players, with a keen eye for detail. They deliver exceptional service, have an empathetic and respectful approach, and a customer focused mindset. They take pride in the condition of our Resident' home, provide outstanding hospitality to our residents and guests, while paying attention to the little things'.

Key Accountabilities

Cleaning:

  • Perform cleaning duties in resident suites and throughout the building.
  • Offer professional, friendly, and engaging service.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies.
  • Act as a team member and work cooperatively and supportively with other departments.

Health, Wellness, Safety:

  • Strictly adhere to Occupational Health and Safety and WHMIS principles and practices.
  • Use proper equipment and materials for the job.
  • Ensure proper bending, lifting, and ergonomic procedures.
  • Follow established procedures in a fire or safety emergency.

Qualifications:

  • Previous Housekeeping experience and use of equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and listening skills.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
  • Empathy for, and an understanding of older adults, aging in place and cognitive impairment.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to build relationships.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to produce timely results.
