The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists in our IT department within the Metals division for an IT Lead, Refinery Services, located in Fort Saskatchewan. The purpose of this position is to be accountable for planning, designing, developing, and implementing efficient business processes and IT solutions across all areas of Sherritt's Fort Saskatchewan Refinery.

Accountabilities:
- Designing and implementing highly available, cyber-secure enterprise solutions.
- Analyzing improvement opportunities and carrying solutions from design to delivery with stakeholders.
- Building knowledge in IT Refinery Services and Enterprise Solutions to improve or leverage existing systems.
- Resolving escalated tier 2/3 support issues and updating ServiceNow knowledge base entries.
- Aligning work with customer satisfaction and SLA KPIs for incidents and service requests.
- Adhering to global IT cybersecurity standards, governance policies, and regulations.
- Training staff on IT Enterprise Solution platforms and tools as needed.
- Reporting on team performance, customer issues, and action plans.
- Promoting innovative solutions and services across all levels.
- Developing data queries based on business user needs.
- Submitting and championing production changes through the change management process.
- Collaborating with database and disaster recovery teams to ensure system integrity.
- Creating solution, training, and support documentation for assigned areas.
Skills and Attributes for Success:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent diploma) in Computing Science, Technology, or a related field, combined with equivalent education and experience.
- 6+ years of experience managing and supporting enterprise systems in complex IT environments.
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certification.
- Proficient in Power BI, Python, Oracle, SQL, ERP systems, and Enterprise Solution Support.
- Proven track record of delivering customer service excellence across enterprise support functions.
- Skilled in producing standards-based business process diagrams and detailed functional/technical specifications aligned with customer requirements.
- Solid understanding of data models, structures, and foundational data science principles.
- Hands-on experience with data preparation, processing, classification, and forecasting techniques.
- Technical expertise in managing and supporting relational database servers.
- Demonstrates cybersecurity awareness with a thoughtful and compliant approach.
