Position Overview
The Server Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. This role requires expertise in Azure Cloud, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, security solutions, telephony administration, and server management. The ideal candidate will also have hands-on experience in finance domain applications and banking-related systems.
Key Responsibilities
Azure Cloud Management
Administer and maintain the Azure environment, including migration of on-premises servers to Azure.
Create and manage Azure Virtual Machines (VMs), implement backup strategies, and perform regular patching to ensure system security and stability.
Telephony Administration
Manage and support the RingCentral VoIP system, including configuration, troubleshooting, and user provisioning.
Microsoft 365 & Entra ID (Azure AD) Management
Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
Manage Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), monitor risky sign-ins, and implement Conditional Access policies to enhance security.
Active Directory & Group Policy Administration
Maintain on-premises Active Directory, including user account management, OU structure, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
Push system updates and configurations through GPO.
Security & Endpoint Management
Manage Sophos Central for endpoint protection and security policy enforcement.
Administer Duo multi-factor authentication for enhanced account security.
Server & Storage Administration
Maintain and monitor physical and virtual servers (Windows Server 2016/2019/2022) and storage solutions for performance and capacity optimization.
User Support & Peripheral Management
Provide technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
Manage print servers, troubleshoot network printing issues, and support peripheral devices.
Banking & Finance Application Support
Provide administration and technical support for banking application software and other finance domain solutions.
Additional Responsibilities
VoIP phone system support and troubleshooting.
Exchange and email administration (mailbox management, spam filtering, security).
Participation in disaster recovery planning and execution.
Documentation of system configurations, processes, and policies.
Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience as a Server Administrator or similar role.
Strong knowledge of Azure Cloud and Microsoft 365 administration.
Hands-on experience with Active Directory, GPOs, and Windows Server environments.
Familiarity with telephony systems (preferably RingCentral).
Experience with Sophos Central and Duo MFA.
Understanding of finance/banking application environments is preferred.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills for end-user support.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3–5+ years of experience in server administration.
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, MCSA, or equivalent are an asset.
