Position Title: Accountant / Controller / CFO
Location: Quesnel, BC (On-Site)

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, on-site in Quesnel, BC.
Compensation: Negotiable based on experience.
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to manage and optimize financial operations for a well-established organization in the heavy equipment and construction support industry. This role requires expertise in full-cycle accounting, financial planning, compliance, and strategic analysis to support informed decision-making and sustainable growth.
Role Summary:
The successful candidate will bring both technical proficiency and strong interpersonal skills, enabling collaboration across departments and with senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage invoicing, accounts payable/receivable, account reconciliations, and prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets; track performance and prepare financial forecasts to guide strategic decisions.
Treasury & Cash Flow Management: Prepare and maintain annual cash flow plans, updated weekly, and manage day-to-day banking relationships.
Financial Analysis: Identify cost-saving opportunities, revenue growth strategies, and operational improvements through in-depth analysis.
Compliance & Reporting: Maintain regulatory compliance and ensure all required filings (GST, PST, EHT, WCB) are accurate and up to date.
Payroll Oversight: Supervise payroll processing, stepping in to process when necessary.
Process Improvement: Implement financial controls and efficiency-enhancing processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (CPA designation preferred).
Minimum 5 years of accounting/financial management experience, ideally in construction or related industries.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, and reconciliation processes.
Advanced Excel skills including financial modeling.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
Proven track record in implementing process improvements.
