Position: Machinist – General Machine Work / CNC Machining
Location: Bowmanville, ON
Pay Rate: $22.00 – $26.77 per hour (depending on experience)
Shift:

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (30-minute lunch)
  • Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Industry: Precision machining and manufacturing, including custom machinery, tools, and component fabrication for a variety of industrial applications.

One of our clients is seeking a skilled Machinist to perform precision machining tasks, delivering high-quality parts according to engineering specifications. Candidates should have hands-on CNC experience and be capable of both machine operation and setup. The ideal candidate will be located within approximately a 1-hour drive from Bowmanville, including Oshawa, Pickering, Whitby, and nearby areas.

Responsibilities:

· Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines, engine lathes, and milling machines.

· Manufacture precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.

· Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges).

· Assist in creating, editing, or optimizing CNC programs when required.

· Troubleshoot machines and perform minor repairs as needed.

· Assemble and fit components and machine parts to close tolerances.

· Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to safety protocols.

· Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of parts.

Qualifications & Skills:

· 3–4 years of experience as a machinist, with strong CNC experience.

· Proficient in operating engine lathes, milling machines, and CNC equipment.

· Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on machining skills.

· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables.

· Skilled in machine setup, component assembly, and troubleshooting.

· Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

· Strong communication skills and teamwork capability.

· Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Preferred Skills:

· Experience with CAD/CAM software or CNC programming tools.

· Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
