Job description - Position SummaryThe Administrative Assistant is the first point of contact for the organizations clients and community partners entering the main floor of the 2314 11th Avenue location. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing reception and administrative/clerical support for the provision of services offered through the RODS organization. This position is the organizations 'Maker of First Impressions', and is the greeter and information provider on behalf of all departments. The Administrative Assistant will be a strong people person.
The position requires strong customer service, communication and problem-solving skills including the ability to respond independently to constant challenges and changes while maintaining discretion and professionalism at all times. In order to provide effective and efficient services, it is expected that the Administrative Assistant works in collaboration with other team members to ensure a smooth workflow.
Job Description - Primary Responsibilities:- Provides a welcoming environment for people coming to RODS's Donahue
- Performs initial screening of clients to establish clients' needs and directs them to the appropriate department.
- Answers general phone inquiries in a professional and courteous manner; directs phone inquiries, voice mails and e-mails to appropriate staff members
- Monitors access points to the facility with the security system
- Uses MS Office programs

- High School
- Post-secondary education in Office Administration would be an asset.
- Proficiency in using the MS Office Suite (specifically Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Proficiency in using voice messaging systems, photocopier,
- Minimum 3 years of experience providing administrative services in an office

Hours of work for this position are Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with an earned day off (EDO) every second Monday or Friday. All positions at RODS require a clean criminal record check. The starting annual salary for this position is $37,667.72 ($21.46 per hour) at the Admin. Category 1 (step 1).
