Nature and Scope
Reporting to the Manager, Ancillary Operations (MAO); this position is responsible for the delivery of professional and reliable event and labour services in a variety of Students Association event spaces. The Events Operations Staff will perform labour related work based on client, venue, and event needs which include but are not limited to, the successful setup and reset of events (furniture and equipment moves), basic tech services, janitorial services, and general labour duties (including repairs and maintenance of some resources). The Theatre Events Operations Team will be expected to build relationships with members from diverse groups of people to provide the highest level of event production and client and guest satisfaction.
Job Duties
- Execute tasks, follow schedules and meet deadlines as set by the Manager, Ancillary Operations, and the Ancillary Operations Coordinator.
- Perform labour related work in preparation of event spaces - includes posting signage, removing furniture, janitorial services, basic tech support, dcor layout,
- Support efficient event execution -includes garbage removal, sweep and mop of spills, replenishing depleted amenities.
- Reset of all spaces following events and activities.
- Execute all event set up with accuracy
- Perform labour related work for the general upkeep of all SA spaces (including indoor and outdoor areas).
- Complete repairs and maintenance work of all Ancillary resources as directed by the MAO and AOC.
- Day-to-day operations - includes maintaining all ACT standard layouts for SA spaces, cleaning event spaces (notify Algonquin janitorial services when they are required), ensuring all A/V equipment, walls, furniture, and fixtures in SA spaces are maintained and serviced based on a preventative maintenance schedule set out by the MAO and AOC.
- Handle simple A/V set up and operation (i.e. Basic P.A. Systems, Projector and Screen,
Pipe and Drape), and work with ACT technical staff on more complicated set-ups. - Understanding of all health and safety policies and procedures in place.
- Assist guests with general questions and enquiries.
- Maintain a safe and efficient workplace for all personnel.
- Always be visible, professional, helpful and proactive.
- Assist other SA staff and departments where needed.

Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and work in a physical labour environment.
- Must have steel toe shoes.
Compensation:
- This position is part-time casual, between 6-24 hours a week as needed
- Shifts for this position may include weekdays, weeknights, weekends
- This position is paid $17.50 per hour
