About the Role
In consultation with the Director of Communications, the Marketing Specialist initiates and executes marketing plans focused on building the brands of the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra and ConcertStream.tv. This person will also assist in the marketing of events, build audiences both in person and online, create content and track trends to better improve budget decisions and ad placement.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule, monitor, and maintain the social media channels for the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra and ConcertStream.tv (Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Linkedin, TikTok)
- Create content, SEO, and copy for both Saskatoonsymphony.org and ConcertStream.tv
- Google ads scheduling and maintenance (Search and Youtube)
- Meta ads scheduling and maintenance
- Budget and content planning
- Work with partner brands
- E-blasts (copy, targeting, and scheduling)
- Assist in fundraising campaigns and communications campaigns as needed
Skills
- Strong writing skills
- Comfort with technology, including spreadsheets, presentation software and content management systems
- Understanding of marketing principles and strategies
- Public speaking skills, with the ability to lead presentations and meetings
- Excellent research skills
- Creativity and strategic thinking
- Leadership skills and the ability to take charge
Graphic design and video editing skills are not required, but are considered an asset.
The employee would not be expected to attend SSO concert events, but would be welcome to do so. As such, the expectation is that the position will be a standard Monday to Friday, daytime position, allowing for flexibility for in-office and work-from-home.
Compensation will begin at $54,000 FTE and will be reviewed after the probation period.
