About the Role

A respected national health organization is establishing a roster of contract Methodologists to support the delivery of rigorous evidence-based reports used by decision-makers across the healthcare sector. This work contributes to critical evaluations of drugs, devices, and health services to guide their appropriate use and funding.

Successful candidates will collaborate with internal teams to produce methodologically sound report sections using established templates and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply best-practice methodologies for evidence appraisal and synthesis in assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prepare sections of structured, scientific reports.
  • Communicate complex scientific material clearly for policy and decision-making audiences.
  • Prioritize and deliver quality outputs under firm deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Follow standardized procedures and reporting formats provided for each project.

Core Qualifications

  • Expertise in evidence appraisal, synthesis, and methodological standards.
  • Ability to communicate technical material in clear, concise terms.
  • Demonstrated experience working in interdisciplinary environments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments with fixed timelines.

Education & Methodological Expertise (must meet one or more areas):

Quantitative Methods:

  • Graduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., biostatistics, public health, clinical epidemiology).
  • Knowledge of clinical trials, observational studies, meta-analyses, and causal inference.
  • Familiarity with Canadian data sources and statistical methods including survival analysis.

Qualitative Methods:

  • Graduate degree in qualitative health sciences or related social sciences.
  • Training and experience in qualitative research methods.

Ethics:

  • Graduate degree in bioethics, moral philosophy, or related field.
  • Experience conducting applied ethics analysis in a healthcare context.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with the structure and dynamics of the Canadian healthcare system.
  • Experience conducting complex analyses such as indirect comparisons or advanced meta-analyses.
  • Ability to oversee data queries and assess database suitability.

Contract Details

  • Engagement Type: Contract roster-based; ability to accept/reject assignments as offered.
  • Duration: Standing offer valid for 3 years.
  • Compensation: Hourly, Competitive compensation available based on experience and expertise.
  • Location: Remote work within Canada.
