Program Overview
The JVS Integrated Employment Services (IES), funded by MLITSD and managed by WCG, provides employment services to unemployed individuals of all ages, financial backgrounds and skills to help them gain and retain employment within their field or a related field. To achieve its goals, the program provides a range of services including one-on-one employment counselling, employment workshops, job development/placement services and job retention supports. In addition, IES collaborates with other programs to ensure efficient and smooth operations through streamlining client referrals to appropriate services.
Within newcomer services, the ISTEM program is designed to facilitate newcomer integration into the Canadian workplace and society at the initial stages of their job search in Canada. It includes information, orientation and counselling as well as sector-specific language/workplace communication training for internationally educated professionals.
Our Workforce Specialist team is dedicated to developing relationships with employers to secure job opportunities.
We're looking for someone to do:
• Prospecting and Cold Calling: Proactively engage in daily prospecting and cold calling activities, leveraging a variety of sales and job development techniques to generate qualified job leads.
• Account Acquisition: Highlight the value of our programs and services to businesses, focusing on acquiring new accounts and establishing ongoing employer relationships.
• Client Placement: Match job seeker clients to suitable job openings and place clients into positions, including subsidized placements.
• Retention Monitoring: Maintain retention outcomes in accordance with established KPIs, providing ongoing assistance to address work-related issues.
• Community Outreach: Enhance outreach efforts to forge partnerships with community organizations.
• Record Maintenance: Maintain confidential records using our CRM tool to ensure accuracy and facilitate effective collaboration with all stakeholders.
• Research and Planning: Conduct research and planning to generate job leads and align them with labour market and client needs.
• Conduct outreach to sector specific employers in order to provide employer sessions, job search assistance and job matching to newcomer program participants and other programs as needed.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
• College diploma in Sales, Marketing, or Human Resources; or evaluated as the Canadian equivalency
• Comfortable with lead generation, cold calling, presentations, and research
• At least 1 year of experience in sales, outreach, staffing, and/or telemarketing
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to prepare and write reports
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop relationships with a wide range of individuals, including community professionals, clients, colleagues, staff, volunteers, and employers
• Effective organization and time management skills
• A Police Vulnerable Sector is required for this position
• A valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle would be an asset, as local travel is required
• Ability to speak another language is an asset
