JSI Telecom is looking for a full-time Data Collection Support specialist. A Data Collection Support specialist is responsible troubleshooting Tier 3 level Support Requests and testing patches in the data ingest space of our product suite.

You will be testing complex, cutting-edge software that uses a wide variety of technologies, which offers you the opportunity to develop your technical and testing skills on the job. You will collaborate with testers, developers, tech support, and managers to deliver time critical fixes to meet and exceed customer expectations. JSI is looking for enthusiastic individuals who actively seek opportunities to grow and develop.

Responsibilities
At JSI, your responsibilities may include:

  • Testing the accuracy of ingest applications and the life cycle of the communication
  • Generating sample test data
  • Running various types of traffic for ingest
  • Reviewing, troubleshooting, triaging and replying to SRs
  • Configuring domains for testing
  • Testing Hot Fixes
  • Testing Emergency Patches
  • Ensuring fixes are robust, do not introduce regressions, and meet compliance/security standards.
  • Adhering to and enforcing processes to ensure quality and traceability of Hot Fixes and Emergency Patches
  • Running automation and validating results
  • Work with customer support teams to provide detailed technical explanations and solutions.
  • Collaborating with QA
    • to plug holes in regression
    • to understand new and existing functionality
    • to provide feedback to Scrum teams

Traits
The ideal candidate:

  • Ability to write and execute unit tests, integration tests, and regression tests to validate fixes.
  • Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or other CI/CD pipelines to deploy hotfixes and updates efficiently.
  • Familiar with telephony and IP protocols
  • Working knowledge of Telephony and Lawful Intercept interfaces
  • Ability to think critically, analyze issues systematically, and test effective solutions.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
  • Willingness to engage directly with customers or support teams to provide timely resolutions.

Requirements

  • Live in the Ottawa area and be available to work in office at least 2 days per week
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Eligible for top secret security clearance:
    • No criminal activity
    • No criminal record
    • Ten years of verifiable history
  • University or College graduate or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Software Quality Assurance or related field

How We Work

You will be expected to work in a remote/hybrid environment reporting to our Kanata, Ontario location 2 or more times per week.
