Title: Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer, Senior Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Kitchener, Cambridge, Waterloo Area - IN-OFFICE & ON-SITE
Salary: $85,000 - $130,000 (experience dependent)

Our client is a growing multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm specialized in geo-structural and geotechnical design for excavation projects throughout Ontario. Offering design, monitoring, and project management services to clients, with their team of Engineers and Field Technicians. This is a privately-owned and stable company now looking to add an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to their team.
Role & Responsibilities:
  • Design and review project details, inspection and investigation reports, geotechnical instrumentation and earthworks projects.
  • Collaborate with coworkers (design and field teams), to ensure project completion from start to finish
  • Work closely with involved stakeholders .
  • Project management of various ongoing and assigned plans.
  • Frequent travel to project sites (within Southwestern Ontario, GTA).
  • Ability to oversee borehole drilling, geotechnical assessments.
  • Help field team in monitoring and installation of monitoring instruments onsite.
  • Creation of investigational geotechnical reports, testing, and specialized foundational projects.
  • Conduct onsite activities, inspections.
The Ideal Candidate Has:
  • Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering principals and practices. 5-10+ years of overall experience.
  • P.Eng designation in Ontario is mandatory.
  • Ability to communicate with various stakeholders (field staff, clients, approving municipalities).
  • Detail-oriented, thorough, organized, and methodical approach to tasks.
  • In-field, instrumentation experience, capability to use equipment for reporting and maintenance tasks.
  • Coachability, be open to working with the senior leadership team to improve your game, take advice and implement new strategies.
  • College or University education mandatory, Bachelors degree or Diploma mandatory.
  • Experience in projects related to shoring (temporary) design, deep excavations, heavy civil.
  • Must have a valid license and/or means of transportation to visit project sites.
  • AutoCAD, MS Office (Excel).
  • Please Note: this role may require work outside of traditional office hours, depending on project expectations.
